London Councils Internship Programme (LCIP) We are currently recruiting intelligent, hardworking and talented graduates who are interested in developing their skills and experience within the public sector. The London STEP internship programme, run by The Careers Group, University of London have teamed up with some of London's largest Boroughs to offer opportunities to undertake paid project-based internship within a variety of departments, with a wide choice of opportunities.
Internships on offer include research, administration, liaison, project coordination and technical roles and can last between 2 - 12 months. All London Council Internship Programme interns are paid an allowance equivalent to National Minimum Wage and have the benefit of a tax and national insurance exemption - exclusive to STEP internships.
Participating Boroughs include Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Havering, Waltham Forest and many more, with opportunities in departments such as Children's services, Housing and Regeneration, Environmental Health and Executive services.

Could you foster?
We are looking for people who can give commitment to children and young people, have sufficient time and adequate space in their homes and are enthusiastic to take on the challenges of looking after someone else's child or young person. The children who are looked after come from various backgrounds and can be from birth to 18 years.
We welcome applicants from all cultural and religious backgrounds. You can become a foster carer regardless of your ethnicity, gender or sexuality; whether you are with a partner or not; or whether you are disabled or able bodied, if you successfully complete the process. All applicants will be assessed on their ability to meet the diverse needs of children & young people that are being looked after by The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea or Westminster City Council.
We are especially keen to hearing from you if you would consider fostering teenagers, sibling groups, children with disabilities or could offer a parent and child placement.
Although foster carers are self employed, the fostering service offers a comprehensive package of support & training to all its foster carers, including a weekly fee and allowance for each child in placement.
